Sophie's Floor Medallion

Sophie recently received a commission from a local tile shop to do a central medallion for a floor. The whole floor is a mesh-mounted prefab (but hand made and gorgeous) fan pattern mosaic from Italy. They wanted to cut out some space for a central medallion of different design. They called in Sophie for advice and, when learning about what it would take to do the mosaic, hired her for the project.

I asked her to take lots of photos - particularly of the installation - and will keep you posted on its progress.
